For the longest time I've heard that coconut oil does wonders but I never wanted to spend $10 on a jar. Boy was I mistaken! I LOVE LOVE LOVE this stuff. Seriously I can't get enough of it. I use it on myself post shower, as eye makeup remover & on my hair as a deep conditioner. You can use it on your face but my face tends to get a little oily so I haven't taken that plunge yet. If I really love something I will pass the word along so guess what everybody, go out & get some coconut oil!!!

Spring has Sprung
The weather here in S.A has been pretty great lately. Spring has arrived!!! You know what that means Easter, baseball games oh & one more important thing FIESTA..... (look out for those posts in a few weeks) I love spring instead of turning on the oven I like to incorporate fresh fruit into anything & everything. I recently found a refreshing fruit salad recipe from Giada. It's made with sweet white wine & mint, sounds delicious right? It's the perfect recipe for spring & summer.

How to do a fishtail braid
You know what I love? That braids are still all the rage. Any kind of braid is popular. My favorite braid is the fishtail braid, I can finally say its my favorite because I FINALLY accomplished it. It took me a good few weeks to get it right. But since my hair is shorter I can't necessarily wear a fishtail as a ponytail. I recruited my little sister Emily for this hair tutorial, she has the Rapunzel hair. Instead I have to resort to mini fishtail braids in my hair. That's ok I love mini braids in hair they add just enough fun to any hairstyle. Don't ya think?
STEP 1. Start by separating hair into two sections
STEP 2. Take a back piece of hair from the right section
STEP 3. Bring it around the front of the right section
STEP 3. Bring it around the front of the right section
STEP 4. Join it with the left section
STEP 5. Take a back piece of hair from the left section of hair
STEP 6. Bring it around the front of the left section & join it with the right section of hair
STEP 7. Keep repeating STEPS 2-6 all the way down till you reach the end of your ponytail. As you cross each piece of hair make sure to pull the hair tightly so it doesn't come undone.
STEP 8. When you reach the end of the ponytail tie it off with a rubber band
If it's easier tie your hair with a rubber band first than start your braid like Emily did with her hair. Also if you have shorter hair like mine use this technique for a mini fishtail braid
If y'all have any new braided looks don't forget to share them here. I love learning new ways to do my hair

Going Bananas
When I first read this recipe from Ina Garten was delicious I quickly knew one thing, "MAKE IT LIBBY" Yup they were right this recipe is just as delicious as they said. It's moist & light but full of so much banany (I just made that word up) flavor. The only hard part for me was waiting for the cake to cool so I could finally frost it. There's nothing I love more than cake straight out of the oven, seriously I think that might be my biggest weakness

How to make an Insect Brooch
I have been lusting after insect jewelry since the beginning of the year. I first saw this necklace from Topshop on Cheetah is the New Black, and then i saw this really awesome brooch the Man Repeller was sporting! I decided i would try to make something rather than spend a ton of money. I think my insect brooch came out pretty good, especially because it cost under $10 to make! I've been wearing it on my purse and it is quite the head turner! If you try this Good Luck!

This weekend we'll be headin' over to ATX to attend our very first bloggers conference. Aaaaah so exciting!!!! It's our very first TxSC & we're thrilled, nervous, stressed & pretty much everything in between.
One event that we're so excited about is the Poshmark Posh Party this Saturday night. We've already got our dresses lined up & we're ready to go. But wait there's great news, it's a VIRTUAL shopping party. That means even if you can't attend the party you can still join in the fun!
All you have to do is..
Download the free Poshmark app from iTunes store & join the virtual shopping party @ 8pm-10pm CST
Check out all the party dresses that the ladies @ TxSC are selling (since they are all fashion bloggers you know they will have some cute stuff)
Oh & did I mention you can sell some of your own items during the party too, pretty cool right?
We can't wait for this weekend! We hope y'all can join us via Poshmark :) Now excuse me while I go pack another suitcase.....

Going Green!
My nails are forever changing, and lately I've kind of been going through a design phase. One color just hasn't been doing it for me. Since St. Patricks Day is coming up I was thinking about what design I could do on my nails. Voila this is what I came up with!
Stripes with a sort of gradient effect makes for delicious nails -- right? yes!
(P.S. Sorry for the messed up lines on the finished product, thats what happens when you don't allow proper drying time. I know y'all are smarter than me so I won't worry)
1. Paint your nails with the color you want in the middle of the stripes.
2. Put a strip of tape in the center of your nail (you may need to cut the tape to your liking)
3. Paint your nails with the lightest green on the top part of your nail.
4. Paint the end of your nail with the darkest green.
(give a good amount of time for them to dry then peel the tape off)
Ultimate Grilled Cheese Sandwich
I don't know about y'all but I'm always looking for a new way to make a grilled cheese sandwich even better. We have a way that'll make you want to eat grilled cheese sandwiches all the time, ok it's really Ina Garten's way but who's keeping tab. This special sauce makes every sandwich sooo much better. Trust us we've put it on just about every sandwich you can think of, hey what can I say when I like something I stick with it.

a fun way to wear a headband
Every where I look everyone is wearing headbands. When did they become popular again? Really I don't care when they became fashionable again I just know I want to jump on that band wagon. Plus this "headband" look is so easy to pull off with EVERY hair length. Teasing your roots, pulling your hair back & slapping on a cute headband, who would pass up that hairstyle?

Step 1. Take your teasing brush & give your roots a good 'ol tease (if you have dry shampoo spray your roots w/ that first then tease, the volume will last longer)
Step 2. Smooth over your roots just a little bit so it looks a little polished. Not to polished though, messy is still cute
Step 3. Take the bottom half of your hair & wrap into a loose bun
Step 4. Take your headband & place it on top of your head, make sure your volumized roots are peaking out from behind the headband
If this isn't the best way to wear the cutest headbands I don't know what is. Hmmm now where can I get a bright lime green headband?
