Confession time, I'm not much of breakfast person. I know I know breakfast is the most important meal of the day but I just can't eat very early. I'm that girl that scarfing down a bowl of cereal before I head out the door just so I have something in my stomach. I do love brunch though, maybe it's cause I get to sleep in till 10:30 & still eat an omelet. So the other day when I was day dreaming about my brunch menu I knew crostini's would be perfect! They are so light but filling @ the same time, & this smoked salmon & scrambled eggs crostini is the best yet. Plus it takes no time to make them, which is even better for me!

We turned one year old this month, and oh what a year its been. Without getting way to cheesy we really just want to thank all of you that have been apart of this year with us! We have had so much fun, and met so many amazing people. Whether in person or through twitter or email, every single one of you have inspired us. And of course a HUGE thank you to all of our readers and subscribers, you are the reason we continue to post.

Can we be honest for a minute? Is there anything better than having a night with awesome bloggers, drinks and Cuban cuisine? Well the answer is yes. It would probably be becoming a millionaire and owning your own island, right? But a night with bloggers is a close second! So we didn't get rich or buy an island, but we definitely had a fun filled night with the Poshmark gals for the Spring Dresses posh party, and of course some fabulous SA bloggers (Linda, Tanvii, Sarah, and Tyesha) check them out if you haven't already. Seriously they are AH-mazing (that was so Rachel Zoe of me!) While your doing that go ahead and download the Poshmark app on your iphone now...go ahead ill wait. Its a great way to buy and sell clothes or any items you have that you can bare to part with.

We also want to thank Poshmark for inviting us and of course all the ladies for making our first Poshmark party experience a success. We loved every minute! All you ladies are so POSH!!

How to get a Golden Smokey Eye

I usually leave the makeup tutorials to Mandy but this was too good to not pass along. I was recently looking for a totally different smokey eye & thanks to Smashbox I think I found it. It's totally rockerish & totally easy!

I'm the type of girl that will spend a lot of time on my hair but I only want to spend 10 minutes on my makeup. That's why this golden smokey eye is perfect for me! I wore it for a night out & this look took me about 10 minutes but my hair took 45 minutes, go figure?

Step 1. Line your eye with a cream eyeliner
Step 2. Use your brush & blend the cream eyeliner up onto your eyelid until you reach your crease
Step 3. Take your black eye shadow & place it over your cream eyeliner. You want to make sure the eyeliner stays put
Step 4. Take your cream eyeliner & line underneath your eye. The eyeliner should be a tad darker on your outer corners of your eye. When you reach the inner corner it should almost dissapear
Step 5. Take your black eye shadow & go over your eyeliner just like in step 3
Step 6. Take your cream eyeliner once again & line your waterline. You don't want ANY white to show through, you want to see all black
Step 7. Take a gold shadow & tap it just on your inner corner of your eye

This look was so fun to do I'm already picking the next place to wear it out to :)

I'm not a big ponytail girl. But when I do wear a ponytail I love to wear it in a fun, totally different way. This ponytail was featured in a magazine & it looked so cool & interesting, needless to say I wanted to recreate it. It was one of those looks that I spent a LOT of time playing with my hair. Realistically though it's the easiest ponytail ever. When we were taking pictures for this look it literally took no time @ all. It's a cool looped ponytail that adds just enough pizazz. I hope y'all like this totally fun totally different ponytail!

STEP 1. Put your hair into a side ponytail
STEP 2. While your hair is still in the side ponytail separate your hair so that there is a hole in the middle, above the rubber band
STEP 3. Take the bottom half of the ponytail & flip it through the hole
STEP 4. Keep pulling your hair through the hole until it feels nice & secure

I always love finding new ways to do a ponytail. If y'all know of a fun new way pass it along, I'd love to recreate it!

Peanut Butter, Chocolate Cupcakes

This recipe has been on my "to make" list for a while, ok for a VERY long while. This recipe is a spin on peanut butter & chocolate. Little fact I'm a huge lover of reese's peanut butter cups. Easter is one of my favorite holiday's partly because of the reese's peanut butter eggs, you know you love 'em too. I could eat a whole bag all by myself (I'm not proud of that) If I can't have my own little bag of reese's peanut butter cups this chocolate cupcake recipe holds me over. It's perfect for a quick sweet bite.

Happy Friday! With the weekend coming up all I can think about is brunch & TGIF :) Confession time, I've been a little obsessed with frittata's lately. I've been looking up lots of frittata recipes, mainly just choosing which ones I want to make. I settled on this smoked salmon recipe. It sounded delicious not to mention it was incredibly easy. I love frittata's you just throw whatever you have in the fridge with a bunch of eggs, fry it up & voila'!

Fried Strawberry Pies

Frozen pie crusts have been living in the freezer since thanksgiving, so i decided it was time to put them to use. I found this recipe for fried strawberry pies in a Southern Living cookbook and knew immediately i had to make them! It must be my southern roots because anything fried is good in my book!

These have just enough filling and crust & are absolutely delicious! If you didn't get your sweets fix from valentines day, theses should fix that!

There's one thing I've been dying to bake but I've been really scared to attempt it. Just the word souffle makes me nervous! So when I found this extremely easy chocolate souffle recipe I figured this would be the perfect time to make it. I mean whats Valentines day without a little chocolate?

On Saturday we went to meet up with some fellow San Antonio bloggers (shout out to Natasha and Tanvii)These ladies were just as great and fabulous as we thought they would be. So glad we made new friends! We were sad we couldn't meet all of them, but that just gives us another reason to meet up, maybe with some drinks this time?

So we did a little shopping after the meet up and decided to snap some pictures with our new tripod, behind a random buliding of course. These were fun!

How to curl your hair with a flat iron!

I can't tell you how many people ask me how I curl my hair. Well ladies here ya go! I love to curl my hair lots of different ways but this way is by far my favorite. It's so easy & it takes no time @ all. It may seem overwhelming @ first but trust me it's worth learning. When I curl my hair with a flat iron the curls last all day, without hairspray. Who knew a flat iron could be so useful

Super bowl Recipe-Sliders

Hi y'all! We have one more super bowl recipe for your eating pleasure. Well technically we have three more recipes. We put together some sliders that were sooooo delicious. We made caprese burgers, a caesar salad burger, & a shake shack burger. They were all very scrumptious & yes they were super easy to make. All we needed was a nice cold Woodchuck beer to wash them all down. Oh & one more thing GO GIANTS!!!

Simple twisted updo

Having shorter hair makes you feel like a brand new woman. I've learned to take inspiration from all sorts of things. Recently I was inspired by Kirsten Dunst. She sported this braided updo @ the sundance film festival. It was such a great hairstyle & I knew I wanted to recreate it. I wanted to mix it up a bit so instead of a french braid I did a twist. Lets face it braiding isn't for everyone! I did a twisted swisster once before & it got so much great feedback! This twisted updo is so simple & fun, it's a great look year round. Happy twisting!

Step 1. make a deep side part
Step 2. take 2 sections of hair & criss cross one over the other
Step 3. once the hair is crossed add a little more hair to each piece & criss cross again
Step 4. keep repeating this step all the way down till you reach the end of your hair
Step. secure the twist with a rubber band. grab the rest of your hair & wrap into a loose bun (take out a few pieces of hair from the front twist to give a more textured look)

Super Bowl Recipes-Chorizo & Cream Cheese Stuffed Jalapenos

Yup its true we're those girls that get really excited for the Superbowl. We make food & sit & yell at the TV. This year I'm rootin' for the Giants! Every year we come up with some great Superbowl recipes & this year the food will be nothing short of fabulous! First up for appetizers, chorizo & cream cheese stuffed jalapenos. These little guys are incredible yummy. They are the perfect size for a quick nibble. But make lots because they go FAST! These little appetizers are perfect with a nice cold Dos Equis. Who am I kidding everything's good with a nice cold Dos Equis...

Bloody Mary's

This morning we tried Bloody Mary's! At home of course, just in case we hated them! If you haven't tried one yet i highly recommend it, they are pretty spicy but totally customizable. I used this recipe except i skipped the horseradish and subbed in some jalapeno infused vodka. It definitely gave it that extra zing!

I think the funnest part about Bloody Mary's are getting to dress them! Most places only dress your bloody mary with a celery stick, but we wanted to get creative! I've seen some bloody mary's with everything but the kitchen sink in em' so if more is better for you give it a go!

Here's what we used.....

Libby made us some breakfast food that went great with the Bloody Mary's! I mean doesn't that look delicious!

Add a little TEXTURE to your life

Ever since I got my haircut I've embraced my natural hair texture. A little wavy & sometimes frizzy, yup I'm one of those girls that SWEARS by frizz ease. Since my hair is shorter I've learned to be a little more playful with it. This is one look I normally wouldn't have worn with my longer hair (I was in a hair rut) But now fun Libby gets to come out!!

Step 1. Blow dry your hair about 80% dry. Don't blow dry it smooth leave it a little messy.

Step 2. Take a quarter size amount of gel & scrunch the ends your hair.

Step 3. Secure your hair with bobby pins right above your ear.

Step 4. Grab your curling iron & curl just your ends. Don't worry about making the curls nice & neat, I say the messier the better.

Step 5. Take your teasing brush & tease your curls. Make sure to make them nice & BIG!

I love this look it's a little 1920's & a whole lotta fun! It's great for when I need a cute hairstyle fast. How do you like our new "step by step" layout? Isn't Katy a graphics genius, thanks Katy!!!!

Let's be honest -- Friday's were made for happy hour. Actually, if were really being honest any day of the week is made for happy hour. Last Friday we hit up a bar that is 750 feet in the air (yes we live on the wild side) Its a bar inside the Tower of America's, which if your not familiar is sort of San Antonio's version of the Space Needle. This place is very hip and cool so of course we had to upstage it with our hip and cool outfits and awesome personalities and dashing good looks. Beat that Bar 601.

Fleur de Sel Blondies

When I first found this blondie recipe I knew it was definitely something I had to bake. I tried making them around Christmas time but that batch didn't come out so great. They stuck to the bottom of the pan and well they were basically rocks. I was pretty disappointed but being the perfectionist that I am there was no doubt I was making them again. It just took me a while to finally get the courage to attempt them again. (I had baking anxiety) I took the plunge and I'm happy to report they came out fabulously!!

They taste AMAZING! It's the perfect combination of chocolaty, sweet and salty. Give these a try, they are absolutely worth it. If you love chocolate chips as much as I do these will be your new favorite!

How to get Golden Globes Hair

Don't ya just love January. It's the beginning of award season! That pretty much means every Sunday my sisters and I will be glued to the t.v. Did y'all see the Golden Globes? I have to say Charlize Theron was my absolute favorite. Her headband was beautiful, where can I find one for myself? One thing that caught my eye was the hairstyle of the night (you know me, hair is my first love) Almost everyone was rockin' that relaxed, undone, almost beachy waves.

I recently discovered how to get this effortless look in
just 4 steps, plus I read that models swear by this so needless to say it's a guaranteed winner! It's one of those looks that's ready to go when you first wake up in the morning, ya I knew that would grab your attention!

Step 1. Start with dry hair, add a little bit of mousse to your hair but don't saturate it. You want your hair just a little damp.
Step 2. Take your curling iron and wrap 1 inch sections of hair around the barrel for about 10 seconds.
Once you've curled all your hair hit the sack. Don't worry your hair will stay curly until the next morning.
Step 3. When you wake up take a spray bottle and fill it with a little bit of conditioner and water. Lightly spray all over your hair.
Step 4. Scrunch your hair with your fingers. This keeps your hair mouisturized & smelling great without drying it out.

Just a few easy steps to great relaxed, beachy, undone waves. I wrapped my hair a little tighter around the barrel just because my hair is a little shorter. Just remember the looser you wrap the hair around the barrel the looser the curl.

Makeup Monday: Gradient!

So last week I was sifting through Seventeen magazine, and yes I still read Seventeen. Maybe not the prom issue, that would be weird. I came across these gradient lips and I practically fell in love. In the magazine they look so much more awesome. But it gave me the idea to share them with you. This look is a little more toned down then in the magazine but still interesting enough to be cool.

I'm just showing the lips this time because well, all the rest of the makeup should just stay simple-like this!

Step 1: Take a coral lipstick and apply this all over your lips.

**make sure to blot after each application

Step 2: Apply a fuchsia color on top but only to the center of your lips and smudge out with your fingertips.
Step 3: Take an orange color and add it to the very center of your lips. Smudge a little out with your fingertip also.
You can add a gloss or keep it matte, your preference.
Get funky and creative with it also and try some different colors!!

road trip style x 3

This weekend was nothing but a girl's weekend (just the way we like it) Saturday we took a little road trip to ATX, sure its only an hour away from us but hey it's still a trip right? We spent the day drinking, chowing down @ the best little dive bar & dancing the night away.

All in all it was a great weekend to kick off 2012. How was y'alls weekend?

Bloggers Do It Better

Im all dressed up with nowhere to go. Actually thats not true, I did go somewhere...TRAIN TRACKS! I mean that's what you should do when you have a fancy dress on right? This Bloggers Do It Better was with sequins this time (cant you tell) I have to say I was really excited about this one. I wore this dress on New Years Eve, but of course I got a little more fancy with it. This is my more laid back "going to the train tracks" look. Hope everyone is having a great year so far.

We have always wanted to throw a New Year's Eve party, filled with friends, sparkles and loads of champagne! Maybe some day we will, but instead here's a list of all the things that would make any New Year's eve bash rock that much more! Can you believe it'll be 2012 in less than 4 days? Crazy how time flies....

PS- were trying to get some New Year's tutorial posts up, you know some hair, makeup and a little cocktail. Hopefully we can get all 3 up but definitely keep your eyes peeled for 1!

Makeup Monday : Snow bunny!

I call this look the Snow Bunny, now I know what your thinking "Mandy you don't live where there is snow and you definitely are nowhere near any ski lodges" This I know, but it was cold and I was watching hot tub time machine. Lots of 80's snow bunnies in that movie. I really liked this look, its fresh with a twist. Fun colors with a soft pink lip, who wouldn't like it!

Step 1: Of course you always want to start with eyelid primer, this will make your eyeshadow last all day. Sweep a white shimmery shadow all across your lid and up to your brow bone.

Step 2: Take a purple eyeshadow and apply it to the outer corner of your eye, blend and sweep out. You can also apply it to half of your crease. Make sure to leave the center of your eye clean.

Step 3: Take the white eyeshadow and apply another coat just to the center of your lid blending with the purple so there is no harsh line.

Step 4: Take a blue eyeshadow and apply to the inner corner of your eye and blend with the white as well make sure all three colors are blended well, with a gradient effect so to speak.

Step 5: Take the blue shadow again and apply to the lower lash line. Then take a white eyeliner pencil and apply it to the lower water line only.

Step 6: Curl your lashes and apply mascara to the top and bottom lashes.

Step 7: Apply a pinkish blush to the apples of your cheeks, and if you want, the tip of your nose too for an "im so cold" look.

Step 8: If you have a soft pink hued lipstick apply it here, I used my cream blush on my lips. Its matte and I thought it looked well with this soft look.

Now your done and ready for the slopes, or not.

With the holidays comes holiday party's and what must you have at a holiday party? Holiday cocktails!!! Can you tell i'm excited about this! The holidays are the time to bust out all things super special, and your holiday drinks should be no exception. Here are some holiday drinks i have tried and loved, some i'm dying to try, and some that are just too good not to share!

Now lets get our drink on!

Ruby Slipper- this drink is the perfect mix of fruity and bubbly, it would be perfect for New Year's Eve!

Belvedere Sparkle- vodka, cranberry and champagne....simple and delicious!

The Flirtini- this drink has made many rounds in my family, it's the perfect mix of citrus cranberry and of course champagne but beware it packs a pretty heavy punch!

Coquito- this drink is what would happen if a pina colada and egg nogg had a baby. Seriously you.must.try.it.

Yuletide Punch- I really wanna try this punch, it's a mix of chai tea, vodka and apple juice. It sounds pretty weird & pretty delicious all at the same time!

White Chocolate Peppermint Martini- this is the perfect holiday cocktail, its so festive! If you like peppermint bark your sure to love this!

Holiday Hairstyle.....Modern Bouffant

Hi y'all. Only two more holiday hairstyles to go! This holiday hairstyle is my version of a modern bouffant. Most people call it just a plain bun, but I just like using the word "bouffant" This is a classic hairstyle that looks great with anything you wear.

You'll need:

root lifter

teasing comb

rubber band

bobby pins

hairspray

Step 1. Spray a little root lifter directly onto your roots. Take your teasing brush & backcomb the top section of hair.

Step 2. Gather your hair into a low ponytail, secure with a rubber band.

Step 3. Tease your entire ponytail with your teasing brush.

Step 4. Your ponytail should look big & a little messy like mine. I wanted it to look like a birds nest.

Step 5. Start to wrap your messy bouffant bun around your rubber band. The messier the bun the better it looks. Remember I was going for the birds nest look.

Step 6. Once your bun is just the way you'd like it to look secure it all around with your bobby pins. Spray your hair all over with hairspray.

Step 7. Done! Your messy modern bouffant is finished.

I really liked the way this looked with a backless dress, I felt like it really helped my hair stand out. Don't forget your hair is one of your best accessories.

Holiday Hairstyle.....Embellished Headpiece

Hi everyone! Wow Christmas is coming so fast, we're already on our holiday hair tutorial #3. This time we're showing you just one way to wear an embellished headpiece. Around the holidays I love to wear anything that sparkles. Headbands, hair clips, bows & the list goes on & on! You can wear an embellished headpiece with any type of hairstyle this is just one holiday hairstyle that I loved.

You'll need:

root lifter

teasing comb

bobby pins

embellished headpiece

Step 1. Spray a little root lifter into your roots. Take your teasing brush & tease your crown.

Step 2. Gather one small piece of hair on your left side, bring it to the right side & pin onto your head w/ a bobby pin. Do the same with a piece of hair on your right side. Your making a criss cross motion.

Step 3. Continue the criss cross motion with your hair. Remember small pieces of hair work best.

Step 4. When you pin down your hair try your best to hide the bobby pins underneath your hair.

Step 5. When you've criss crossed your hair all the way to the bottom take a small piece of hair from underneath & wrap it around the loose hair on the bottom to create a ponytail. Take a bobby pin & securely pin that piece of hair underneath.

Step 6. When you've secured your ponytail you can start to take out a few bobby pins that may be poking out. I only take out about 2 or three. Remember you don't want the whole thing to fall out but it can "lay loose"

Step 7. Add your embellished or sparkly

headpiece. This is a necklace that I use as a headband.

Step 8. Voila'! Done

Holiday Makeup Monday

step 1- Always start with an eyelid primer, dust a sheer neutral shade all over your lid.

step 2- take a tan color and apply it right in the crease of your eye, we are creating depth and dimension (but with neutral tones)

**we want to keep the eye neutral for this look, as we are putting the focus on your amazing lipstick

step 3- Take a bronze color and with a small eyeshadow brush, sweep this color on the lower lash line and in the inner corner of your eye. Still keeping in natural but adding depth and glam to your eyes as well.

step 4- Line your top lash line ONLY using pencil or liquid liner. I'm using pencil here but liquid would look just as glam!

step 5- Curl your lashes and add mascara, I always apply two coats just for that little extra pop to my eyes. Make sure to let your lashes try in between each coats.

step 6- Add your favorite blush to the apples of your cheeks. A soft pink or a rose color will look stunning with this look.

step 7- Apply two coats of a purple lipstick. I know what your thinking, purple? Yes trust me it looks amazing.

**If your not as brave to just have the purple on, you can always layer one coat purple and one coat red lipstick. This will give the red a HUGE boost and bring the color out even more!

Holiday Hairstyle.....Va Va Voluminous Curls

Hi friends! The holidays are just a few weeks away and if we could we'd make sure to get everyone of you a gift but we have the next best thing......tutorials! Lots of holiday hair tutorials. We posted our Top 5 Holiday Hairstyles and we can't wait to bring our "How To's" your way. First up volumized curls & lots of them.

You'll need:

heat protectant

curling iron

bobby pins

teasing comb

hairspray

Step 1. Spray your hair all over with a heat protectant.

Step 2. Section off your hair & start curling 1 inch pieces of hair away from your face.

Step 3. After you curl each section take your bobby pins & wrap your hair around your finger. Pin the hair onto your head securely.

Step 4. Leave the bobby pins in for about 15 minutes allowing your hair to cool. Fell free to do your makeup during this time.

Step 5. Once all of your hair has cooled down take out your bobby pins.

Step 6. After all your bobby pins are taken out run your fingers through your hair, separating your curls.

Step 7. Take your teasing comb and start teasing your roots. The more volume the better.

Step 8. Don't forget to curl your bangs if you have any. I always curl my bangs last.

Step 9. Voila' rock those sexy curls!

hot chocolate recipe....hot chocolate heaven

We're always looking for a great hot chocolate recipe. We've tried white hot chocolates, Serendipity's hot chocolate & mint hot chocolate. All by the way are A-MAZING! This year we found another great recipe. This recipe was easy & so incredibly delicious. This was hands down one of the most decadent hot chocolates we've ever had. It was incredibly chocolaty & so delicious.

Anything with chocolate & I'm in heaven. Yup it's by far my weakness (if y'all can't tell by now) Oh & by the way these cookies are incredible! It only has 5 ingredients so you know its simple but very tasty. The main ingredient is Nutella, now who deosn't like that? I added a few chocolate chips for a little surprise. I like to live on the wild side!

December our oven is working overtime! This Saturday we're spending the whole day baking cookies. Just us girls, about 20 cookie recipes & Bing Crosby blaring on our iPod. Holiday Hairstyle....Old Hollywood Glam Hair

Hi y'all! Mandy passed the reins to me today. Instead of Makeup Monday I'm doing "Hair" Monday. I have lots of holiday hair tutorials to show y'all & I just couldn't wait to get started! First up Old Hollywood Glam. It's by far the easiest holiday hairstyle, just three easy steps. Plus it looks great on everybody.

You'll need:

hot rollers

brush

hairspray

Step 1. Heat up your rollers, once they are nice & hot start rolling up your hair. Make sure when you put the rollers in your hair that you tuck your ends under. This will keep your ends nice & smooth. I always roll my hair this particular way.

Step 2. Leave the rollers in for about 15 minutes or until they are cool. I like to do my makeup during this time. Once you take out the rollers gently brush the curls out. Shape the curls to help frame your face.

Step 3. Set with hairspray & you're all done!

This is a great hairstyle for any occasion. If you don't have hot rollers a jumbo 2" curling iron will do just fine. When you release the curl just pin it with a bobby pin & allow it to cool.

*style tip- this hairstyle looks great with one side tucked behind your ear to show off those great earrings

This weekend we turned into twihearts, I wish I could say vampires that would be way more cool, but no sadly my parents are mortals and have no desire to become vampires any time this decade. (LAME) We went to go see the new movie in the Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn!! It was sooo good, seriously. It was especially nice without all the screaming girls, although I cant say we wouldn't have been one of them. C'mon who doesn't wanna see Jacob without his shirt! We had a great time. Oh and that lovely little lady on the far right. That's Emily (the youngest Castillo) I'm pretty sure y'all have met.

We LOVE Revlon!

To say that we love Revlon would be an understatement. To say that were addicted to Revlon would pretty much hit it on the nose. We have just about every product that Revlon makes. Eye shadows, lipsticks, lip butters, blush you name it we own it. We were due for a dossier digs so we thought we would share our love for Revlon with you. Please don't judge us, the first step to getting help is to admit you have a problem right? :)

Lipsticks:

(we have 11 lipsticks)

Fire & Ice- It's the perfect "notice me" color. Every time I wear it I feel like a superstar!

Ravish Me Red- It's a classic gorgeous red. It's my must have lipstick!

Cha Cha Cherry- This color is perfect for every day. It's subtle yet beautiful all at the same time.

Siren- This lipstick is such a nice orangey pink, it was perfect for summer, the nail polish in Siren is also great!

Really Red (Matte)- This is my everyday lipstick, i love the color, the red is so classic!

Wine Not (Matte)- This is such a deep purpley red, it's not my everyday color, but it's great when you want to change it up especially during the fall!

Violet Frenzy- This lipstick is straight up purple, but it's a wearable color, plus when you layer it with a red it takes on a whole other color!

Orange Flip- This is the perfect orangey lipstick for summer or spring time. I love it!

Hot Coral- I practically lived in this color during the summer, its perfect for that pop of color to your face!

Peach Me- I recently purchased this color and I have to say, it's perfection. It looks great for everyday wear.

Love that Red- This is the perfect red with bluish undertones. The name lives up to the color because I really do "love that red"!

Lip Butters:

(we have 3 lip butters)

Candy Apple- I can't say enough great things about these lip butters. They moisturize to perfection & the color is fabulous.

Lollipop- This lip butter is so moisturizing plus it's the perfect pink!

Lipstains:

(we have 4 lipstains)

Gothic- I wear these everyday, this color is more of a deep red, but they last pretty much all day!

Flame- I love Flame, it's my favorite lipstain, this color is the best cross between red and pink!

Eyeshadows:

(we have 12 eyeshadows)

Venetian Blue- This color is so vibrant & fun! Great for all seasons.

Riviera Blue- I love to create a smoky eye with this color It's the perfect dark blue.

Aubergine- When I first put on this color I knew it was the perfect purple. Especially when applied with a wet brush.

Black Galaxy- This is my "going out" color. It's great when I need to look fabulous in one quick step.

Peach Sorbet- This is the best color for every day. It makes you look more awake & bright. All 3 of us have this one...

Rich Sable- This shadow is really brown, it's matte so i use it as a crease color when i want a smoky eye!

Polished Bronze- This shadow is such a nice brown, plus i has little specks of glitter, so it brightens your eyes up!

Brushed Copper- I live in this color, and especially since I'm obsessing over metallic for fall. It'll look great for day and night.

Khaki Suede (cream) This is a 4 in 1 cream palette. I really love all these colors. They are all great for an everyday natural look.

Blush:

(we have 1 blush)

Cream Blush in Berry Flirtatious- This cream blush is light & airy & has the best pink color.

Concealers:

(we have 4 concealers)

Colorstay Blemish Concealer- Lately I've been breaking out a lot. This is a lightweight cover up that also heals @ the same time.

Age Defying Moisturizing Concealer- This concealer is so creamy, it goes on smooth and dries like a powder...it's just great!

Eyeliners:

(we have 2 eyeliners)

Colorstay Liquid Pen- This liquid liner lasts all day & all night. Whats better than that?

Mascaras:

(we have 3 mascaras)

Grow Luscious- These mascaras are great for every day wear. They are lightweight & lengthening.

French manicure with a twist

During the cooler months i never feel up to doing nail art, i usually stick to one color (dark is my preference) and i'm good. I wanted to try something a little different, so i did a french manicure only i changed up the colors. I really like the way it turned out, plus it takes only four easy steps!

I'm already wanting to try some different color combos!

Step 1- Start by painting your nails with a base coat & then with the color of your choice for the bottom half of your mani. I used a brownish grey polish.

Step 2- When your nails are completely dry tape them off, making sure only the tips of your nails are exposed.

Step 3- Make sure the tape is secure on your nail so you get a clean line. Then taking a color of your choice, paint only the tip of your nail. I used black.

Step 4- Wait till the tip of your nail is dry, then slowly peel the tape off. Apply a top coat and Finito!

It's so easy, i hope you give it a try!

Hello friends!! Happy Tuesday to you! It's that time again.....time for a new 3 way style! This was one of our favorites we've done so far. We decided to style up a striped dress from Forever21. It is super comfy, plus it literally looked good on all of us! Check out how we styled it!

This three way style was by far my favorite. Partly because this dress was super comfy but also because we're finally getting to dress in fall clothes! I love the look of a dress with a blazer thrown over it. There's something about a blazer that makes me feel "put together" Oh and ya like my belt? It was a little diy project that Katy did. Thanks Katy!

First let me say this has been one of my favorite 3 way styles. Partly because I love this outfit and mostly because Im crazy in love with this jacket. Its vintage Forever 21, we dug it out for this outfit because I mean why not! Oh and those boots...I mean c'mon! I dig this look. Its so "I have incredible style but Im not trying to hard" kinda look. LOVE!

In case your wondering, YES I am wearing the dress backwards! I am a super fan of wearing things backwards.....i normally just stick to shirts and dresses, i don't think anyone wants to see me with my pants backwards! I get a lot of grief from my sisters for doing this but i think as long as the tag isn't showing and your rocking it, Who Cares! I'm so excited i got to wear my faux fur vest, i think fur makes every outfit just a little more glamourous!

We've been stepping out pretty frequently lately, cant you tell. This time we didn't hit up 17 bars or cheer on any football studs, but we did have some fantastical burritos, oh and I have to mention, me and Libby took a taste of death and we survived. We had a sister lunch, minus one, at Freebirds. It was our first time there so we had to get all dressed up for it! And if your thinking no alcohol was consumed on this day you would be....wrong. Taco Cabana has the best $1.50 margaritas this side of the border!

As you may know (or not know) football is big in Texas, and by big I mean HUGE. This Saturday we "stepped out in" these outfits to our little sisters football game. Well, she's in the band but we love the team just as much.

Actually, we did more than just a football game, these outfits got a lot of wear out of them. We were on the move right after these photos were taken. Football, then Wursfest. If you follow us on Twitter or Instagram I'm sure you saw a slew of photos. Then we hit up a few bars after that, 3 to be exact.

I know were such party animals!

Pie love...

If I could make every day "Pie Day" you better believe I would. There's just something about baking a pie that gets me all warm & fuzzy inside. Not to mention how it makes the house smell. I would bake a pie every day just to have the house smell amazing.

I found this great recipe from Better Homes & Gardens & it was fantastic! It's made with maple syrup, cinnamon & pumpkin. The flavors are perfection. They are warm & sweet all @ the same time. These ingredients add something extra special to pumpkin pie. It's the perfect fall pie. I think this dessert just might have to be a thanksgiving tradition!

Makeup Monday: Icy Blue Hue

So, this is the first Makeup Monday since the craziness of what we all know as Halloween. Side note: I hope you all liked our Halloween posts, we enjoyed doing them for you guys. OK so, lets get to this makeup. I was totally inspired by MAC's holiday products. Everything is so icy and there are blues and silvers and glitter everywhere, I LOVE IT!

I decided to do an icy blue eye this time. I'm also hoping by doing this tutorial it will inspire Texas to get cold and possibly have some snow in the near future. Fat chance I know, but can't a girl dream?

Step 1.) Start with a nude eye, as always, apply any primer you have.

Step 2.)Take your big fluffy brush and apply a white or nude shade all over your lid. Also apply to the brow bone. You want the light to catch the shimmer there to give you a more glowy look.

Step 3.) Apply a gold shadow to your top lid and in the crease of your eye, then take a deeper gold and apply in the crease just for a little dimension.

Step 4.) Take any blue cream shadow or blue eyeliner and line your top lid. You want to smudge it into the outer corner of your eye as well. Blend as you desire.

Step 5.) Line your lower lash line with the blue as well and smudge. Take a black or charcoal eye liner and line your water line on both the top and bottom lids.
Step 6.) Apply a peach blush to the apples of your cheeks, just for a bit of a glow.
Step 7.) Apply a peachy lip stick or lip gloss to your lips. I wanted to stay with a more nude eye since this look is more about your eyes.
And....
You are done!

This can be a great everyday look or even a great holiday party look. Feel free to try them in both settings, I know I will.

Willy Wonka wannabees

Monday we channelled Willy Wonka...we made candy! We decided to make Reese's peanut butter cups (we used this recipe) and Twix bars (this recipe). They turned out better than we expected, and delicious! They taste just like the actual candy!

Candy making is very time consuming, but its definitely worth it if you want to impress people! They'll think your the next Martha Stewart....

Halloween really brings out my sweet tooth, but who am I kidding I have a sweet tooth 365 days a year. Monday Katy & I spent almost all day in the kitchen making these spider cupcakes with hot chocolate & some homemade candy. Jealous? Yup I thought so.

DIY: Halloween Nail Art

I've been seeing so many Halloween nail art tutorials lately.....like this, this and this. They've inspired me so much that i wanted to share some of my own with you guys! These are so fun to rock on one finger or, all over.

The first and probably easiest is the Orange crackle, if you aren't into all the nail art designs this would probably suit you better!

Just use your favorite orange polish, then top it with a black crackle polish!

Then there's the classic Candy Corn nail art....these are so fun to rock.

Start with yellow polish (all over).....wait till it dries and tape off two sections to paint orange & white.

I love this one.....Lil' Frankie's! It's my take on Frankenstein...

Start with lime green nails...(if you don't have lime green, you can layer colors, i used a pastel green and layered a neon yellow over top)....add a black crackle polish. Once it dries take a dotting tool and white nail polish to make his eyes, add a small black dot to finish the eye.

I had so much trouble with the blood splatter, but it turned out as my favorite nail. Once you get the hang of it, nothing can stop you!

Make sure you tape off the skin around your nail, this is very messy.

(you may not want to use you favorite polish as this uses a lot)

The easiest way to do this splatter effect is to take a straw and dip it into your red polish. Take your straw out of the nail polish slowly,you should see a bubble starting to form on the top of the bottle. Once you see the bubble slide the straw slowly across the top of the bottle, so that the bubble stays in tact on your straw. Look at the straw and make sure there is a bubble on the end, if there is, move quickly over your white polished nail and blow through the straw onto your nail. The polish should burst out of your straw leaving a red mess all over your nails. Don't worry this is GOOD! Wait till the polish dries and then rip off your tape, revealing your awesome blood splattered nails!

These spiderwebs nails are so fun!

Start with a color of your choice as the base color, i chose black. Using a nail art pen, draw a tiny spiderweb in the corner of your nail.

Don't forget to protect all your designs with a top coat!

Dollar stores carry tons of spider rings that you can cut and glue on your face with eyelash glue. Now cover yourself with spiders and go scare the heck out of people!

The most iconic role Audrey Hepburn is associated with is, Breakfast at Tiffany's! She played Holly Golightly so well, the fashion, the glamour, New York! This is such a fun and easy costume to try!

If you don't have a necklace quite like the one she wears, you can just take a diamond broach and clip it on any pearl necklace you have, like i did.

It's also easy to make a hair piece, i had some old hair barrettes that i painted with silver nail polish and attached what was left of a broken diamond bracelet......worked like a charm!

How to get Pan Am hair & makeup

Hi friends! We're so excited for today's post. Let's just say we've been looking forward to it for over a month. It's our Pan Am tutorials....yippee!! We've been doing lots of research for these looks. Ya know spending every Sunday glued to the TV just to find the perfect hair & makeup. It's a tough job watching TV but hey somebody has to do it.

Remember to always start with foundation, concealer, and powder (especially with this look, Pan Am stewardess' always have flawless skin)

#1: Apply a nude eyeshadow all over your lid and all the way up to the brow bone.

#2: Your going to apply a light brown eyeshadow to your lid, concentrating on the crease. This look is very simple. They always wanted to go for the natural beauty look.

#3: Line your top lid with black liner and wing it out just a bit. I prefer a pencil. It looks more natural.

#4: With your angled brush apply black eyeshadow on top of the black liner. This will set the eyeliner and also cover any spaces you missed with the liner as well.

#5: Apply a pink blush to the apples of your cheeks. Were going for the flushed look. Staying with the au natural look ladies!

#6: Fill in your eyebrows with an eyeshadow that is closest to your natural color

#7: Apply a rose colored gloss or lipstick to your lips

Remember to curl your lashes and apply your favorite mascara!

This look is very simple but you will always look fabulous and fresh faced, good luck!

Tools:

Volumizer

Curling iron

Hair clips

Bobby pins

Brush

Hairspray

Step 1. Take a volumizer & spray all over your hair.

Step 2. Section off your hair with a clip. Start @ the top section of your hair & use your curling iron to curl 1 inch pieces of hair. I prefer to alternate the way I curl my hair. Some pieces I curl towards my face & some I curl away from my face.

Step 3. Once each piece is curled take that exact same piece & wrap it around your finger.

Step 4. Next take a bobby pin & pin it securely to your head. I like to leave my hair curled up as long as possible. This would be a great time to do your makeup.

Step 5. Take your brush & lightly brush your hair to smooth out the curls.

Step 6. Brush your hair all the way through to the bottom.

Step 7. Set your hair with hairspray all over.

Remember the ladies of Pan Am always have perfect hair & makeup, good luck!

Makeup Monday: Marilyn love!

I have to say, I wasn't sure how I would feel about this look. I think Marilyn Monroe is timeless and her looks were nothing short of gorgeous so I was hoping I could do her justice. I didn't, but she's one of a kind so who can REALLY look like her anyways. This makeup was fun and when I put the wig and dress on I didn't wanna take it off! Take it from me ladies this look is so fun for Halloween and having your dress blown up IS as much fun as it looks. Try it!

Always start with your foundation, concealer, and powder

#1: Apply a frosty white color right under your brow bone, in the crease of your eye, and the center of your lid (your creating a highlight here)

#2: Take a brown color and apply lightly in the crease of your eye. shade up to the outer and inner corners of your brow. (your just want to create contouring with this step)

#3: Wet your eyeliner brush and dab it in a dark brown eye shadow. Line your top lid with this.

* side note, Marilyn never used black eyeliner it was always brown or dark brown* classy!

#4: Apply a white eyeliner to your bottom water line. This will make your eyes appear wider. All the ladies in this era did this. Were trying to be authentic here ladies.

#5: Now is the fun part, apply false lashes to your top lashes. Whether you chose full lashes or just ends were going for the winged look here.

#6: Apply a peachy blush to your cheeks!

#7: Take any red lip liner or lip stick and apply it to your luscious lips

#8: Final step, don't forget her unforgettable beauty mark. I found that liquid liner works best with this step.

Add your wig, white dress, and wind machine and your just like Marilyn

and if you didn't know her and I are on a first name basis! ;)

Halloween's just around the corner so you know what that means we'll be cooking up some spook-tacular food. So come hungry!!

I'm not really good @ impersonations but here goes my best Dracula

Muahahaha today we're cooking up some tasty little treats. If you're blood thirsty we have a delicious tomato basil soup with a few eye popping surprises. Along with some finger lickin' appetizers. My best meal yet

We use cheese tortellini in our tomato basil soup & I'm telling you it's the BEST soup ever, we could probably eat a whole gallon of this soup. Enjoy :)

*be careful with the dough for the chopped fingers it spreads like crazy, just use a little dough & about halfway through the baking time take them out & reshape them with a spoon

If you were to ask me what my wildest dream would be I'd say one word.....PARIS!!!
But Paris fashion week would be a cherry on top of my wildest dream. I got this look from the Dior show. Its such a sophisticated look but I made it my own. I made it a little edgier and totally different. Its quickly becoming one of my favorite looks. If you can't tell by now I have a lot of favs.

How to do 80's hair

A few weekends ago, we went to an 80's party, of course 80's attire was a must! I was wanting to try something totally different with my hair. Anytime I do 80's hair a crimped side ponytail is my go to, but this time i wanted to go classic 80's.

These bangs are sooooo 80's, I looked like i walked right out of an 80's music video!

Next time you have to do some 80's hair, try rockin' these huge 80's bangs, people will think you walked right out of your hot tub time machine!

Here are the step to creating your awesome 80's hair!

Step 1- Crimp your hair for that ultimate 80's look (this step is optional)

Step 2- Bring all your bangs to the front of your face, then separate them into 2 sections.

Step 3- Curl your top section of your bangs backwards, you want them to roll backwards.

Step 4- Now curl the last section of your bangs forward.

Step 5- Tease the top section of your bangs so they will be a little fuller.

Step 6- Take a big round brush and start rolling your bangs while you spray it with hairspray.

Step 7- If your bangs don't stand up on their own, pin your bangs back into a big curl, then BLAST them with hairspray.

Step 8- Take your round brush and roll your bangs while spraying them with hairspray just like in step 6.

Now just BLAST your bangs, as well as your hair with hairspray, the more the better!

Don't forget to rock Mandy's awesome 80's makeup with your hair for the ultimate 80's look!

I am a lover of all things breakfast, add that with a love for fall and voila you get pumpkin pancakes. I am normally a little skeptical on things like pumpkin pie shakes and pumpkin pie blizzards, but i fiqured pumpkin pancakes would be worth a try! Boy was i right! They still taste like pancakes but with a hint of pumpkin, they are just delicious. I searched everywhere for a really good recipe, but i finally settled on this Martha Stewart recipe, i mean it is Martha Stewart after all.

PS- Libby hates pancakes, but she Loved these, if that doesn't say they're good, i don't know what will!

How To Do Flapper/1920's Hair

It's that time of year again....Halloween is knockin' on our door. Yay!! Don't ya just love Halloween it's one night where you can be a kid again. Who am I kidding we don't need a holiday to act like a kid.
Buckle up cause we have some fun Halloween tutorials headed your way. I'm talkin' makeup, hair & a few diy's. This is what I love about having sisters Mandy does the makeup, I do the hair & Katy holds the camera. Its a family affair!

Flapper costumes are a "go to"costume for pretty much everyone. It's a classic! Here's a little 1920's inspired look just for you....

Step 1. Start by spraying a heat protectant all over your hair. You'll be using a lot of heat on your hair for this tutorial so make sure to protect it.
Step 2. Section off your hair with a clip. Start with the bottom section of hair.
Step 3. Take a 1 inch piece of hair & start wrapping it around the barrell of the curling iron. Wrap the hair away from your face. Make sure to wrap the hair tightly & as close to the root as possible. Hold the hair around the curling iron for about 30 seconds. Remember you want a tight curl.
Step 4. Curl all of your hair all the way to the top. Include your bangs if you have any.
Step 5. Grab a few bobby pins & start pinning your hair under to create a bob. Bob's were huge back then. Set with hairspray.
Step 6. Voilà you're done! Happy Halloween

1920's makeup

20's makeup is so super easy! Its practically goof proof. All you need to do is smudge some black shadow on and and pop on a ruby red lipstick and voila, your done! This look is really fun to do and its always a halloween hit! Look out for 20's hair from Libby tomorrow!

Step 1: Of course you always start with a bare eye and make sure to apply primer to your eye lid. Line your upper lid with a black liner. Don't worry it doesn't have to be perfect as your going to smudge this later.

Step 2: Line your lower lid. You will also be smudging this line to so don't worry if its not straight

Step 3: Were using dark grays and two different blacks with this look. Step 3 is with the gray. Apply the gray to the entire lid and up to the outter and inner corner of the brow. Leaving the center of the brow open for highlighting.

Step 4: Here we are applying the black, we want to apply the black also to the entire lid concentrating on the crease and the outter corner of your eye. Bring this color down to your lower lash line as well. Were blending both colors very well

Step 5: Add the last black shadow to your lid. Were building the colors here on your eye lid so make sure to blend all these colors well. This look is meant to be messy and smokey so dont worry about doing it wrong. Also bring this color down to your lower lash line.

Step 6: Add a white liner to the inner corner of your eye and also add a white shadow to the inner corner as well and to the center part of your brow bone. We want to add a little highlight to this look.

Step 7: Eyebrows were dangerously thin in the 20's. So if you have thick eyebrows you may want to try and cover them. If your eyebrows are naturally thin just emphasize them with a black liner or shadow.

Step 8: These lips are fun! You just want to apply it to the center of the lip. Emphasize the cupids bow and don't take it all the way to the outter corner of your lips. On your bottom lip just make sure to add it to the center of the lip. You want to make it look as though you have a permanent kissy pout!

This completes the 1920's look. Hope you all enjoy this!!

How To wear a beehive

Yes I'll admit it I'm under the "beehive" spell. I've been wearing it with almost every hairstyle but in a much more modern, playful way. If you think about it it's just volumized hair but with a fun name!
I gathered my trusty teasing brush & compiled three of my favorite modern "beehive" looks. Beehives are every where, on the runway, on the new fall t.v shows & now on The Style Dossier. So jump on the beehive bandwagon...come on you know you want to!

*the best thing about these three "beehive" looks is I used the exact same bump for each look.

Tools:

volume booster

teasing brush

bobby pins

curling iron

hairspray

Step 1. Start by curling your hair. I used hot rollers for extra body but you can use a curling iron & just curl the bottom half of your hair.

Step 2. After you've curled your hair grab some hair on the very top of your head & spray with a volume booster. Then tease that same section of hair. Tease as little or as much as you would like.
Step 3. Pin back the teased section of hair. Make sure you leave the sides of your hair unteased. Set with hairspray.

Tools:

bobby pins

hairspray

Step 1. Using the same "bump" gather your hair hair off to the side to create a side ponytail.
Leave one strand of hair from the back of the ponytail out. This will be used to wrap around your rubber band.
Step 2. Now tie off your ponytail. Once you've got your side ponytail where you want it take that extra piece of hair & wrap it around the rubber band & bobby pin to secure it.
Step 3. Set with hairspray.

Tools:

bobby pins

hairspray

headband (optional)

Step 1. Take down your side ponytail. Now leaves the sides of your hair down. Gather the rest of your hair into a low bun & secure it with a rubber band.

Step 2. Take one side of your hair that was left out & wrap it around your bun. Once it's wrapped around your bun pin it into the bun. It'll help make your bun feel more secure. Do the same exact thing with the other side of your hair.
Step 3. Set with hairspray. Add a headband for extra glam if you would like.

Leather Love

Soon we'll be in that transitional period, where it's not cold enough to wear a coat but it's cool enough for a jacket. We here in Texas are pretty much in that period until January....lame! Good News though, it's the perfect time for a leather jacket! They are not too heavy but just enough for those chilly winds! There are so many variations of leather jackets out there, but here are 3 that we are loving!

One jacket is $10,000, (i bet you can't guess which one) it seems one of us is living in a fairytale thinking she can afford that! I hope she can though, cause then it is our right as sister's to borrow it!

We hope y'all are doing uber-tastic and enjoy hump day as much as us!

It seems like every way I turn I feel like I'm in the 1960's. It's all over my t.v & the magazines. I just can't get enough of the hair & the fashion. To be honest I'm a little jealous that my mom got to grow up during that time. Makeup Monday: How to do 80's makeup

The 80's was pretty much that era where anything went. Big hair was in (for guys and girls), Clothing was outrageous, and the makeup well, the more the merrier. Seriously it took a village to put it on and take it off. I should know I did this look two days in a row. I have to say though that I'm super fond of all this makeup, its fun and colorful and well, you can basically look like a clown and still get compliments all night. If you have any 80's party's coming up, as we did (hence this tutorial) or you want something easy for halloween this look would be like so super rad!

Step 1: As with all tutorials start with a bare eye. I used primer on my lid to make sure the colors popped and helped them stay all night long.
Step 2: I used two different blues with this look, The lighter blue I used for the base on my eye lid. Apply it to the lid not going any higher than the crease.
Step 3: This is were the darker blue comes in. Apply the darker blue to the crease and the outer corner of the eye, then you blend these colors as well as you can.
Step 4: Take a white eyeshadow and apply it right under the brow bone, this gives you depth to your look and it will catch the light as well. Then take a purple eyeshadow and apply it right above the darker blue shadow and bring it to the outer corner as well and below the lower lash line. You then need to blend the colors together.
Step 5: If you have it, take a purple eyeliner and line your lower lash line. Note: If you do not have any don't fret, you can always add more purple eyeshadow to your lower lash line.
Step 6: Take a black eyeliner (pencil or liquid) and line your upper lash line, seriously the more the better. For some reason ladies in the 80's loved black eye liner.
Step 7: You then want to take a black and purple eye shadow and go over the eye liner with the same color. The powder over the liner will absorb the liner guaranteeing that it stay all night. Next if you have an aqua colored eye liner feel free to use it now. Line the the lower water line of your eye. This makes your eyes stand out and adds that awesome 80's look to your eye.
Step 8: Curl your lashes and apply about 10 coats of mascara! Ok maybe not that many but 9 will do. Ladies in the 80's were never short mascara so put as many coats as you want to feel satisfied!
Step 9: Blush is a must, take a fuchsia blush or a hot pink color and apply liberally to the apples of the cheeks as well as going up into the hair line.
Step 10: This is my favorite part, THE LIPS! Just apply a hot pink or fuchsia color to your lips (no need for gloss) and voila your gonna look like the bombdiggity!
Crimp and tease your hair as big as you want and have fun with it ladies, I guarantee you can't mess this look up! Yeah like totally!

1960's comeback

Hi there y'all! NYFW has come & gone but it left us with some fantastic ideas! To many for me to count. One show that inspired me was a gal you might know....DVF. I was in awe of the 1960's comeback. Especially those beehives! I tried for about two days straight to get that exact same look as the models did...but that was impossible. My french twist didn't look so "twisty" but the beehive part was rockin' if I say so myself. So I decided to do a little something different, a beehive but a more modern wearable beehive. I love this look or should I say I love the beehive. I'm beginning to wear it with every hairstyle. Pretty soon I may need a beehive intervention!!

Makeup Monday: Emmys Recap

I know all of you watched the Emmy's last night, and if you didn't shame on you! OK not really, I'm sort of a TV snob/ TVaholic so I had to watch and root for all my favorite shows. Of course I watched the red carpet to see all the hit and misses of top celebs, makeup and also gowns. There were so many trends on that carpet. One being red dresses, anyone who was anyone was wearing red and two was stunning smokey eyes and nude lips. It was everywhere at the Emmy's and everyone wore it so well. I decided to do the same Emmy look today because I love a good smokey eye and lets face it I just wanna pretend I know what I'm doing!

Step 1: You need to start with a clean naked eye(obviously)I always put primer and some loose powder on my eyelids just to make sure the eyeshadow stays all night.

Step 2: Dust a light brown all over your lid and take a cream highlighting color and dust right below the brow bone. This is gonna be the base of your smokey eye.

Step 3: I mixed a dark brown and a dark purple together and applied it to the crease and the outer corner of my eye. With a blending brush, blend all the colors together to create the smokey effect. Blending is always very important so BLEND BLEND BLEND!

Step 4: Apply a liquid eyeliner to your top lid and then add a black eyeshadow right on top of the liquid liner. This acts as a shield over the liquid to make sure the eyeliner does not smudge.

Step 5: Now this step I was going to apply false lashes to add that extra punch on the eyes, unfortunately I was unaware that I ran out of glue for my falsies so, I just added about 3 coats of my favorite mascara. If you have access to falsies I would suggest you put them on during this step. You wont regret it I PROMISE!

Step 6: Apply a nude lipstick and your favorite lip gloss on top. This look is all about the eyes so the lips need to be nude and glossy!

AND....Your done! Of course don't forget your blush and your set and mist spray!

This look is timeless, smokey eyes and a nude lip always looks stunning. Have fun with this look gals! Glam it up this week!

The Bold and the Metallic.: Makeup Monday

So, I know Mondays can be drab and the start of the weekday(and who really wants to work anyways right?)but we here at The Style Dossier thought why not brighten up your Mondays with a new face, or at least a new look you can try on your face. Whether its a totally different look or a new lip color, a new eye shadow, blush, etc... we want you to step out on Mondays feeling renewed, refreshed and ready to take on the work week. We also want to thank Keiko Lynn for our inspiration! You rock girl!

This look makes me feel so fall-ish!! Im taking my obsessions for fall and putting them together for this look. Im lucky that they go together or this could have been very very bad. Metallic and a bold ruby lip is such a glamourous look for a fall night out, Im in love with it!

step 1: Apply Primer to your entire lid and up to the brow bone.

step 2: Apply a gold shadow to your entire lid as well and also up to the brow bone.

step 3: Take a darker gold and apply it to the crease of your lid with a shadow brush.

step 4: Take a blending brush and blend the two colors together, this step is very important. You can never blend enough. Blend until you are satisfied with the look.

step 5: Apply a pencil liner or a liquid eye liner to your top and bottom of your eye. This creates a dramatic look for your eyes.

step 6: Curl your lashes and apply your favorite mascara to your top and bottom lashes, let set and apply another coat for a more dramatic look.

step 7: With a lip brush apply a berry or ruby lipstick. Blot, and the reapply. Clean up the edges with a little bit of concealer if needed.

step 8: Your finished, apply a mist and set to help your make up last all night!
