If your in San Antonio from now until the 29th I suggest you drop all the plans you have and hit up some awesome FIESTA events. Its the one time of the year when the whole city parties till the sun comes up, c’mon you don’t wanna be left out! Here are 5 events we would never miss! King William Fair- This fair is one of the coolest events (literally) all the hipsters hang here and its for a good reason. There is so much local talent in the great city and this is where people showcase it. If your interested in the local bands, painters and designers this is where you need to be. We will be there with our fedora’s and ray bans, but I’m sure everyone else will be too. Good luck finding us!
** Be ready to spend money here, the art is one of a kind! Oyster Bake- It’s a huge carnival type event that has everything anyone could love from rock music to country and tejano. Lets not forget the food. Turkey legs and chicken on a stick are a must. But don’t be fooled it really is just chicken on a stick, but its DELICIOUS! And if course the whole reason people gather, OYSTERS! They are awesome and come prepared any way you like them! NIOSA- Which stands for "Night In Old San Antonio". This event attracts about 90% of our city but its worth the elbow rubbing. They have tons and tons of different foods from all different cultures as well as all kinds of different music from every genre. If you head down there the Irish section is always a blast. Grab a beer and a chalupa and enjoy everything San Antonio has to offer! Alamo Heights Night- This event is similar to NIOSA except its a little more on the upscale side. They have actual restaurants catering the booths set up and the blue margaritas are the best! Rick Cavender’s band plays every year, so if your into 70’s and 80’s music you will love them. They even have a shuttle that takes you to and from the actual event. The bus my be our favorite part, aside from the blue maragaritas of course! Fiesta Flambeau Parade- Its the largest illuminated night parade in the nation! Im serious (look it up) Parades are the funnest of all events. Tons of floats go by with everyone from “fiesta royalty” to grown men in tiny cars, those guys are the best! Take your own ice chests, grab a seat and enjoy the scenery. If you happen to see us, be prepared to get squirted with a water gun. Its tradition!
** There is also a day parade which is the Battle of Flowers Parade. If you don’t mind sitting in the heat for 3 hours be our guest. Drink lots of water and don’t forget your sunblock. Texas heat is brutal!
