Dossier does Urban Taco

rsz_1urbantaco
We were so lucky to have been invited to check out Urban Taco, which in our opinion is one of the top mexican restaurants in San Antonio. The atmosphere couldn't have been better, and the food is to die for. For starters you HAVE to try the avocado ceviche tower. It didn't last long, we couldn't get enough. We would totally recommend the quesadillas because well, their delicious. Trust us! Of course we couldn't go to a place with "taco" in the name and not order some tacos! They certainly live up to their name. The tacos were so flavorful. Great taste and great presentation. You know us, we cant go to a restaurant and not order some cocktails. Needless to say, we left there happy. The drinks we tried were spot on, strong but not to strong. Just the right amount of delicious. If your feeling dangerous definitely order the mezcal. Their margaritas were killer, in a good way, and they have a great happy hour! We give Urban Taco 5 out of 5 tacos! Get there this weekend we promise you wont regret it. Enjoy!

Guess what you guys? We're published authors!! Well, kind of. We are now contributors to a local newspaper here in San Antonio called "The Current"! We'll be sharing weekly drink and food recipes so stay tuned. Our first post is up now. It's a delicious spicy watermelon margarita that we concocted just for the readers. It's so good you won't be able to stop drinking it, but you probably should at some point. Hangovers aren't cute on anyone! Check it out and share it with your friends!!

Stepped out in: Versona!

Yesterday we were invited to the grand opening of a new accessory store called Versona. Needless to say we fell in love. They had so many great pieces and all at great prices!! I'm pretty sure we would have bought the whole store but our bank accounts wouldn't allow us. Although I'm pretty sure none of us would be upset if we spent all our money on rings, necklaces and bracelets! Overdraft, what? We did walk away with some really cute stuff!

We've already worn most of our jewelry and have gotten compliments from everyone! (If that doesn't get you to go in the store I don't know what will) Who doesn't love compliments! Thank you Versona for inviting us and letting us spend your money. You made us look glitzy and glamorous!

If your in San Antonio you should really stop by the North Star Mall location, the staff is so friendly, plus the store is Awesome! There's also some stores across the country so check the website and head on over!

Viva Fashion!

streetstyle

Let's be honest, who doesn't like being told "DAMN! You are rocking that outfit!" only everyone right? We basically shouted this whilst waving our camera and chasing people down who we thought had awesome style. We hoped everyone would be jumping at the chance to be photographed by The Style Dossier (don't they know who we are?) but alas, these were the 12 brave souls who actually let us. We love doing street style and yes, Fiesta is about partying till the wee hours, but it's also about fashion and these people had it! All of them had something unique and different about their style -- which we love. There were so many bright colors and patterns, very fiesta-ish!!
We want to give a big "Thank you" to everyone that let 3 complete strangers take their picture, you guys and gals looked steller! Viva!

Fiesta San Antonio!

Screen shot 2012-04-23 at 1.52.11 AM
If your in San Antonio from now until the 29th I suggest you drop all the plans you have and hit up some awesome FIESTA events. Its the one time of the year when the whole city parties till the sun comes up, c’mon you don’t wanna be left out! Here are 5 events we would never miss!kingwilliamfair King William Fair- This fair is one of the coolest events (literally) all the hipsters hang here and its for a good reason. There is so much local talent in the great city and this is where people showcase it. If your interested in the local bands, painters and designers this is where you need to be. We will be there with our fedora’s and ray bans, but I’m sure everyone else will be too. Good luck finding us!

** Be ready to spend money here, the art is one of a kind!oysterbake Oyster Bake- It’s a huge carnival type event that has everything anyone could love from rock music to country and tejano. Lets not forget the food. Turkey legs and chicken on a stick are a must. But don’t be fooled it really is just chicken on a stick, but its DELICIOUS! And if course the whole reason people gather, OYSTERS! They are awesome and come prepared any way you like them!NIOSA NIOSA- Which stands for "Night In Old San Antonio". This event attracts about 90% of our city but its worth the elbow rubbing. They have tons and tons of different foods from all different cultures as well as all kinds of different music from every genre. If you head down there the Irish section is always a blast. Grab a beer and a chalupa and enjoy everything San Antonio has to offer!alamoheighsnight Alamo Heights Night- This event is similar to NIOSA except its a little more on the upscale side. They have actual restaurants catering the booths set up and the blue margaritas are the best! Rick Cavender’s band plays every year, so if your into 70’s and 80’s music you will love them. They even have a shuttle that takes you to and from the actual event. The bus my be our favorite part, aside from the blue maragaritas of course!flambeauparade Fiesta Flambeau Parade- Its the largest illuminated night parade in the nation! Im serious (look it up) Parades are the funnest of all events. Tons of floats go by with everyone from “fiesta royalty” to grown men in tiny cars, those guys are the best! Take your own ice chests, grab a seat and enjoy the scenery. If you happen to see us, be prepared to get squirted with a water gun. Its tradition!

** There is also a day parade which is the Battle of Flowers Parade. If you don’t mind sitting in the heat for 3 hours be our guest. Drink lots of water and don’t forget your sunblock. Texas heat is brutal!
