Almond Strawberry Shortcakes

The month of April is always so busy for us. We're celebrating birthdays & anniversaries. So needless to say we eat our fair share of cake. Well I've found this perfect & totally delicious almond strawberry shortcake recipe to get us through April. These cakes are extremely light & the best thing is you use almond cornmeal instead of flour. These little cakes let the strawberries really shine. One of these individual desserts wont weigh you down (thumbs up) This is definitely one of the best strawberry desserts! Hope y'all enjoy it as much as we do!

Strawberry Crostata

rusticstrawberrycrosata
Remember in my last food post I told y'all I was in LOVE with pastry puff? Well my love just got a little deeper. I used it to make a strawberry crostata with homemade whipped cream, yummmmm! It's wonderful for summer. It's tart & sweet & the whipped cream adds the perfect bite. We usually can't keep strawberries in our fridge, we love 'em that much. I'm just gonna go ahead & add this to my strawberry recipe file. I should just label that file "Devoured in 5 Minutes"

Rhubarb Shubarb

I've been wanting to make this exact recipe for a very very long time. Don't even ask me why I didn't because I couldn't even tell ya. I just knew that his strawberry rhubarb crisp had to be baking in my oven by the weekend. To tell you the truth rhubarb kinda scared me, I mean it's a big pink stalk. How delicious could it be? Well VERY delicious is the answer. Seriously this recipe is so good & surprisingly very easy.  It tastes so fresh, the rhubarb & strawberries are a match made in heaven! I don't know why I ever doubt Ina, she's a magician with desserts.

Fried Strawberry Pies

strawberrypie2Frozen pie crusts have been living in the freezer since thanksgiving, so i decided it was time to put them to use. I found this recipe for fried strawberry pies in a Southern Living cookbook and knew immediately i had to make them! It must be my southern roots because anything fried is good in my book!
These have just enough filling and crust & are absolutely delicious! If you didn't get your sweets fix from valentines day, theses should fix that!        strawberrypiesstrawberrypies1
