Unclog Those Pores

I don't know about y'all but during the summer my pores get clogged like crazy. All that sweat & sunscreen, yuck! I've found a few easy ways that helped save my skin this summer. These treatments help remove all that dead skin & dirt. Say bye bye to blackheads & hello to healthy, glowing skin!


1. Heat up some water, right when the water starts to boil take it off the heat. Place your face over the boiling water & drape a towel over your head. Keep your face over the boiling water & let the steam open up your pores. Your face will start to sweat, that's a good thing! Keep your face over the water until all the steam is gone. Splash some cold water onto your face immediately afterwards to close your pores back up
2.  Put 3tsp of clay powder into a bowl, add 1 tsp lemon juice, 1tsp water & 3 drops of essential oil (your choice) stir to combine. Add more water if needed to make a paste. Grab a washcloth run it under hot water & drape it over your face for 1 minute to open up your pores. Pat your face dry & start to smear the mask over your skin.  Clay masks pull oil & water out of your pores, giving your skin a tightening sensation which means your pores will appear smaller

Salsa Queens

It's no secret we love to eat salsa in our house. If someone buys salsa or makes salsa it's guaranteed that it'll be gone by the end of the day. Mandy & I even have competitions, who can eat the hottest salsa. She'll say she always wins but come one we all know I'm always the winner. Yeah that's right Mandy I'm the CHAMPION!! We're always looking for fresh salsa recipes & this recipe hits the spot. If y'all have any great salsa recipes pass 'em along, we'd LOVE to try them

Strawberry Infused Vodka

From now on you can refer to me as Katy the mixologist! No, really I would love that. Between the Jolly Rancher Vodka and now this Strawberry Vodka, I'm practically a pro! The truth is this vodka is anything but hard, a little time consuming but none the less its suuuuper easy! Make it, shake it, strain it, and drink it. Four easy steps to delicious vodka goodness! Enjoy a ton of drinks with this vodka and its sure to make your summer that much sweeter!

How To Do Water Marble Nails

WARNING if you don't have a whole lot of patience we suggest you step away from the computer. This tutorial can be a little challenging & take up a LOT of time. Luckily we had a few hrs to kill, & trust us it took us a loooong time to get this tutorial right. We've done just a few nail tutorials but this Missoni nail was by far our favorite. Katy & I were wracking our brains on which nail tutorial should be next. Why not Water Marble nails? The only thing is we heard it was hard (everyone was right by the way) But you know what after all the complaining the nails actually turned out pretty damn cool!! Every design is different so you never know what you're gonna get. We chose to just do it as an accent nail but if y'all want to try & do all of your nails more power to ya!

a FRUGAL gals dream!

I'm what you call a frugal gal. I don't like to spend a lot of $ & if I can make it I will. So this post was & still is PERFECT for me. It requires no time @ all & you need just two ingredients. By the way did I mention it cost nearly nothing! Homemade Biore Strips are the latest craze, ok so I just made that up but it has saved me a ton of $ & trust me they really work!

We have the golden ticket (part deux)

Makeup is so much fun in the summer. Bright lips, fun eyeshadows, bronze skin. This makeup look has all three. It's a fun take on our vintage post plus it's PERFECT for summer. For this look you only really need three products. A nice gold eyeshadow, a bright pink lipstick & a rosy peachy blush. Those colors just scream summer! This look took less than 10 minutes. In our opinion why would you want to spend more than 10 minutes on your makeup in the summer. Wouldn't you rather be sipping drinks by the pool?


STEP 1. Prime your eye lid. Apply any gold eyeshadow that you have all over your top lid
STEP 2. Apply a rosy/peachy blush on the apples of your cheeks
STEP 3. Apply your bright pink lipstick

Picking out a vintage food post was pretty hard. All the recipes we put up on the blog we really love so choosing one can be VERY challenging. It was a toss up between this & a dessert recipe. But when I saw this article I knew I had to make this dish again, this time with a twist. I still has all the croque goodness but this time in a croissant form. When Katy & I saw the pictures of it we started drooling, we won't judge you if you do the same

Everything old is new again!

Happy Sunday Everyone! This week we are bringing a bunch (well 5 to be exact) of our old posts back from the lost world of the interweb. 13 ways to wear a chambray shirt

If we weren't already confusing enough just the three of us, we decided to add our little sister in the mix also.  Now you have quadruple the the fun all in one post!! Get excited everyone! This post was fun for all involved (meaning just the four of us) but we love mixing outfits so this was perfect for us!

Taking one chambray shirt and making 13 outfits was easy, getting all of us to have time to take photos is a lot harder. There is so many great outfits here, so bust out your chambray and get to struttin'!
