Mia's Mirror

Last Friday we were lucky enough to visit a brand new shop right inside our local HEB. For all you non TX gals wondering, HEB is the biggest grocery store chain in Texas. Your pretty much there every week buying groceries, but now you can buy accessories there too. HEB has opened up a fashion & accessories boutique called Mia's Mirror. From the minute you walk into Mia's Mirror you forget you're inside a grocery store. They have complimentary champagne & chocolates while you shop, & every purchase is gift wrapped. 

This store has bracelets, rings, shoes, necklaces & so much more. Mia's Mirror has different themes for their jewelry, so every few months you can find something new & fabulous. Plus, every piece ranges from $9-$12, isn't that great?  

Mia's Mirror only has one location right now, in the Stone Oak Parkway HEB here in San Antonio, but they will be expanding in the next year to other HEB locations. Look out they might have one headed your way!

Holiday Hairstyle.....Embellished Headpiece

Hi everyone! Wow Christmas is coming so fast, we're already on our holiday hair tutorial #3. This time we're showing you just one way to wear an embellished headpiece. Around the holidays I love to wear anything that sparkles. Headbands, hair clips, bows & the list goes on & on! You can wear an embellished headpiece with any type of hairstyle this is just one holiday hairstyle that I loved.

You'll need:

root lifter

teasing comb

bobby pins

embellished headpiece

Step 1. Spray a little root lifter into your roots. Take your teasing brush & tease your crown.

Step 2. Gather one small piece of hair on your left side, bring it to the right side & pin onto your head w/ a bobby pin. Do the same with a piece of hair on your right side. Your making a criss cross motion.

Step 3. Continue the criss cross motion with your hair. Remember small pieces of hair work best.

Step 4. When you pin down your hair try your best to hide the bobby pins underneath your hair.

Step 5. When you've criss crossed your hair all the way to the bottom take a small piece of hair from underneath & wrap it around the loose hair on the bottom to create a ponytail. Take a bobby pin & securely pin that piece of hair underneath.

Step 6. When you've secured your ponytail you can start to take out a few bobby pins that may be poking out. I only take out about 2 or three. Remember you don't want the whole thing to fall out but it can "lay loose"

Step 7. Add your embellished or sparkly

headpiece. This is a necklace that I use as a headband.

Step 8. Voila'! Done

The A-Z of The Style Dossier

Happy Sunday Folks, we were recently tagged by the lovely Nina Holland to do this fun A-Z post, so without futher adieu here it is......Oh and a BIG excited Hi to all our new followers, we are so glad y'all are here!

A. Adjective to describe you: playful, entertaining!, sassy and witty,
B. Beauty essential: lipstick definitely lipstick, mine would be a lipstain or lipstick, generally anything beauty is essential for me but I think every girl needs blush!
C. Color choice for fall: emerald, mustard yellow, any shade of red
D. Dossier dig of the moment: structured bags, statement necklaces, metallic! (makeup wise and clothing wise)
E. Eatery we love: Luke's in S.A...its amazing, Firebowl, The Esquire Tavern(best fried pickles),
F. Favorite accessory: my gold watch...thanks kit & randa, my diamond studs and this statment necklace from buffalo exchange, Im definitely a necklace gal
G. Gold or silver: both, definitely both, what they said ;)
H. Happy Hour cocktail of choice: goldilocks: fyi these are deadly, a classic Margarita, Dos-arita!
I. Instruments we play: the flute for about 7 years, now my little sister plays my flute, the clarinet, and currently learning the keyboard, oye! I played the french horn but Im no Chuck Magione, and I know 3 songs on the guitar woo-hoo!!
J. Junk food: reese's pieces, big red, wendy's frosty's, snickers, twizzlers & pepsi, m&m's(any kind of course) Baby Ruth
K. Kill for: a trip to Paris, a big loot of Dannijo jewelry, Louboutin's, and some Chanel bags, a place on the island of Bora Bora, seriously have never seen anything more beautiful!
L. Lipstick color we love: cha cha cherry from revlon (isnt't that the cutest name), Matte Really Red from Revlon, Hot coral from Revlon!
M. Music station on Pandora: michael buble, he's my dream guy, I don't have a favorite per say but i'm currently listening to the Wilson Phillips station, The Strokes- It always puts me in the best mood!,

O. Odd habit: popping my toes (i know pretty gross), I have to rub my leg on my bed in order to fall asleep (i can't believe i just said that out loud)  I can never sleep with socks...like EVER!

W. Winter activity we love: making tamales with my family (look out for this post around christmas), if we got snow, mine would be playing in the snow, but tamale making is fun, Tamales for sure!
X. Xtra info: i can't whistle or wink but i can do a great high five!<-- Lame!, "She's the Man" is my favorite movie, i seriously LOVE it!,  i CAN whistle, wink and high five and all at the same time ;)

3 is better than 1!

Hello ladies! Guess what time it is? Time for another 3 way style....yay!!! This time we had a hard time picking what to style up. We've been having some seriously awesome weather in Texas lately so we decided to do a blue jean/ chambray shirt. There are so many ways to wear a shirt like this, but here's 3 ways we wore it!  

I've been DYING to wear my flashy dress somewhere. So what better place than our 3 way style right! This chambray shirt over it has been one of my favorite outfits. It's casual meets fancy...love love love! I have a feeling this outfit will be making another appearance soon. Plus if you notice I'm wearing one of my birthday presents...my watch. I love it so much it "sleeps" next to me every night. Hey what can I say this girl loves her watch!

I was hoping to do blue jean on blue jean, but alas nothing was working for me. I decided to layer this shirt up instead. I am always in awe at Blair's (from Atlantic-Pacific) layering skills, that girl can rock layers like no other. So I channeled my inner Blair. I just put my favorite Army vest over the blue jean shirt, put a dress under it and voila! I really like how it looks! It's casual but has a certain flair to it! Im excited to be able to layer more now, since the weather is a changin'...  

I've been really into shorts lately and these are no exception. I was going for a casual but also sorta dressed up look. The shorts are a little dressy and the top is a lot more casual. I think I succeeded. And bonus points, this outfit is so comfortable. Who doesn't love that!

Well guys, the day is finally here......i am finished with my 30x30!! I felt like this day would never come. This has been so fun, it definitely got me out of my comfort zone and challenged me everyday. I would definitely recommend taking the challenge if your looking to shake things up a bit! 

This outfit is one of my favorites! I picked all the pieces i loved the most in my 30x30 wardrobe and mashed em' all together. I think my outfit is the perfect send off for a wonderful summer 30x30!

I wanted to add some color into my pics this time, so i bought some balloons! They are so fun, plus they made me feel special :). We went all over downtown to take my pictures and celebrated a job well done with drinks and tapas! What a great day!

Happy Friday Folks! I am rebelling against the weather yet again today. I decided to wear this blazer even though it's in the 100's....im just a rebel like that. Truth is i am dying for it to be fall already. This always happens, halfway through July i'm done. Done with this heat! So i figure the more i wear fall items in 100 degree heat, the more mother nature will feel bad and send some snow my way! Yes.....snow!

Today i am linking up with Everybody, Everywear! This time you wear something thrifted. 

Nothing makes me happier than going into a thrift store, and walking out with some really cute and affordable clothes. I get such a rush when i find something that i am immediately dying over! This dress and this shirt are some of my favorite thrifted purchases. This dress was everything i didn't know i wanted and this shirt was every thing i wanted but couldn't find. Now me and my closet will live happily ever after!

I have to say i am getting a little sad about my 30x30 coming to a close....it has been so fun!
