Summer is officially coming to a close this weekend, but for us Texans we'll still have summer weather for about a month and a half. 

These are all the things we have loved during summer and will probably (most likely) still love during fall!

Blueberry Lemonade - During the summer I'm always looking for a way to cool down this blueberry lemonade does the trick. It's sweet & tangy just perfect for summer or anytime.

Hats - I've been OBSESSED with hats for summer. Fedora, floppy you name it I love it. They are the perfect accessory especially if you don't feel like brushing your hair ;)

Bohemian twist - This bohemian twist is my lifesaver during the summer. It gets all the hair out of my face & in this tx heat that makes me rejoice. 

eos lip-balm- this lip-balm has been perfect for summer, it's easy to apply because of the dome shape, plus it's the fruitiest flavor....summerfruit!

Revlon matte eyeshadow "Peach Sorbet" - This eyeshadow color is so perfect it gives you the right amount of color without being too heavy. 

All-American Rejects pandora station- this station is so perfect for days by the pool or the beach, i know i'm gonna keep summer going by listening to it year round!

Revlon Just Bitten lip-stain "Flame"- this lip-stain has been on my lips since the start of summer, it's the perfect shade of reddish-pink! I'm excited to wear it into fall!

Revlon Lipstick-fire & ice -  Red lipstick is my go to item for summer, it makes me feel so put together. It will definitely be my winter go to as well

Seaweed deep cleansing facial wash from The Body Shop - its makes my skin feel so soft and its just right for combination skin like mine. Its great for everyday use.


Mossimo pleated shorts - I'm in love with them and have worn them for 4 days straight (I washed them of course) they can be dressed up or down and are so comfortable for the hot days in Texas.

White satchel - I have used my satchel almost every day during the summer. I'm obsessed with it! I got it a thrift store & it's one of my greatest finds...it's definitely one of my favorite dossier digs!

Big Red-a-rita (bomb pop) - I love love love this drink! It combines two of my fav drinks...Big Red and a margarita!! It may sound strange but I assure you the outcome is "the bomb" and it tastes just like a bomb pop, coincidence? I think not.

                           

EASY breezy!

Lately I've had one thing on my mind....chocolate, chocolate & more chocolate! Can you tell I'm a little obbsessed. I wanted to make anything w/ that chocolate for this post & bam it hit me...what about a chocolate mousse! Let's be honest if I'm going to eat something chocolately than I'm going to want to eat it ASAP. The less time cooking & the more time eating is ideal. I hit the jackpot when I found this mousse recipe that only takes 5 ingredients...yup I consider myself pretty lucky. Now it's time to pass some of this luck on to y'all. ENJOY!!

What we're wearing : Summer Makeup

Hey y'all! How's your Saturday going? We have a special treat to add to our summer series. Our daily summer makeup. Since summer has been brutal here in S. A we've had to be a little careful with the makeup we choose. You know your basic oil free makeup, or in our case makeup that doesn't melt off your face by 5' o clock. One of the most important things for us this summer is lots of color especially on our lips. We LOVE a red lip! 

But more importantly we love a quick but FUN makeup routine. 

So what's inside your summer makeup bag?

1. Revlon Matte eyeshadow (Peach Sorbet)- I have been wearing this color ever since i got it, it's such a nice bright yet subtle pinky-peach. It's great for everyday wear.

2. Hard Candy Fox in a Box (Hot Flash)- I love this blush, it can be really pink or really subtle depending on how much you put on, but it does make you feel FOXY!

3. Revlon Age Defying concealer (medium)- i love this concealer, it's very moisturizing and covers  extremely well. 

4. Revlon Grow Luscious Mascara (Blackest Black)

5. Revlon Just Bitten lip stain (Flame)- I wear this everyday, sometimes i even layer a red or pink lipstick over it!

6. EOS lip balm (summer fruit)- I layer this balm over my lip stain, it's such a summery fruity flavor, plus makes you lips super soft!

2. Loreal lipstick in Classic Wine- Whenever I want a break from my red lipstick (which hasn't been that often) this is my go to color. It's a great subtle color.

4. Revlon Fire & Ice lipstick- This is by far my fav lipstick! The color is great...I've worn this almost every day this summer.

5. Cream blush in Rosy Pink- I made this cream blush with a lipstick that was a bright pink color. I wore the lipstick once for Halloween & instead of throwing it away I just broke it up & added a little moisturizer & tada cream blush.

8. Revlon Ravish Me Red lipstick- This is a perfect red...it's perfect for every season.

9. Covergirl Mascara-Lash Blast Length in Very Black- This mascara really does extend your lashes. I was pleasantly surprised the first time I used it

10. Eyebrow brush from Elf

1. Loreal Double Extend Mascara (Black)- Oh mascara, I mean what lady doesn't love it. This double extend tube is great if you need to add length to those lashes of yours. The white end coats your lashes and extends and the other half is your color. Plus the wash off is super easy!! 

2. Revlon eye shadow in peach or pearl- Depending on my mood ill either go with peach or pearl. Both are neutral and a perfect back drop if your like me and wanna play up your lips! 

3. Elf Complexion perfection powder- Summer time I try and stay away from foundation so this pallete is great, it takes away any redness and evens out your complextion without looking powdery!

4. Neutrogena Sunscreen spf 15- I can't tell you how important it is to put sunscreen on your face! This ones great because it goes on matte and its not greasy at all. Plus it helps your makeup from smudging, SCORE!  

5. Wet n' Wild eye liner (black black)

6. Carmax spf 15- I can never rave about carmax enough. Its spf 15 and adds a great gloss. Its so important to put spf on your lips. They do get sumburned ladies and I'm gonna guess that's not a good look. 

7. Revlon eye shadow in peach or pearl- Depending on my mood i'll either go with peach or pearl. Both are neutral and a perfect back drop if your like me and wanna play up your lips! 

8. Revlon lipstick in (hot coral)- Obsession of the summer is gonna have to be this lipstick hands down! Its such a great color and adds that pop of fun color for the summer.

9. Maybelline Fit me concealer- Concealer is my best friend, if your not using too much foundation this is KEY to cover up under eye circles and any blemishes you might have. I'll never leave home without it. 

10. Elf eye lid primer- Primer is always great no matter what season. It really helps to make your makeup last longer in the heat! 

11. Elf blush (pink passion)- I love this color! Its that perfect shade of pink just to add that great flush look you want. Just a little goes a long way, trust me!

TWISTED SWISSTER

Hello friends! Happy Hump Day :) Its been a crazy few days but I have a treat for you today. I entered this contest given by The Beauty Department, you had to create a hairstyle that was original, creative and most of all easy. It was a challenge at first but once I started playing with my hair I came up with great tutorial that I ABSOLUTELY LOVE! It gets all the hair out of my face and off my neck which is a total plus in this TX heat. It's my take on a swiss miss braid.....I call it the TWISTED SWISSTER. I hope this tutorial is as easy for you as it was for me.

1. Start with your natural hair texture. Part your hair into two sections. Grab the section you won't be working with and tie it up keeping it out of your face.

2. Start with one section of hair. Take two pieces of hair near the front of your face and criss cross one over the other.

3. Once the hair is crossed add a little more hair to each piece and criss cross again.

4. Keep repeating this step until your hair reaches the nape of your neck. Don't forget to add hair to each criss cross you make. Tie off this twisted section with a rubber band.

5. Repeat the criss cross motion on the opposite section of hair and tie off with a rubber band.

6. You will end up with two twisted braids.

7. Gather the end of both braids and twist into a side bun.

8. Pin the bun into place. Add bobby pins wherever needed.

9. Spray hair lightly with hairspray for extra hold. Rock that TWISTED SWISSTER!

The best part of this hairstyle is that you can wear it many different ways. Grab the ends of the braids and put them into a ponytail or grab the ends and tuck them into the sides of your hair. The possibilities are endless!! Have a fabulous rest of the week with even more fabulous hair!

Well guys, the day is finally here......i am finished with my 30x30!! I felt like this day would never come. This has been so fun, it definitely got me out of my comfort zone and challenged me everyday. I would definitely recommend taking the challenge if your looking to shake things up a bit! 

This outfit is one of my favorites! I picked all the pieces i loved the most in my 30x30 wardrobe and mashed em' all together. I think my outfit is the perfect send off for a wonderful summer 30x30!

I wanted to add some color into my pics this time, so i bought some balloons! They are so fun, plus they made me feel special :). We went all over downtown to take my pictures and celebrated a job well done with drinks and tapas! What a great day!

How to keep SUMMER going all year long.....

Happy Magazonday!! How many of you out there have wanted SUMMER to never end? #raiseshand me toooo....but I wish I could spend it somewhwere other than this TX heat. SUMMER jsut brings you those "happy" chemicals that you don't want to go away. So when I found this article in Redbook that gave me tips on "how to keep that SUMMER feeling all year long" I bit the bait. And realistically its not hard @ all. Just follow these few steps (which you're probably doing already) and you'll enjoy that SUMMER feeling alllll year long!

I'm pretty excited about making my SUMMER last how about y'all?

Laid back mode.....

Mai Tai's on the beach, sand between our toes and boogie boarding the waves that's pretty much all we did last weekend on our vaca. We followed Kenny Chesney's orders to a tee "soak up life for a while in laid back mode, no boss, no polite, no stress, no dress code" If you ask me he's a genius!

Our family vaca's to Port Aransas have been a tradition for as long as I can remember. It's a blast getting our WHOLE entire family together. Grandparents, aunts, uncles cousins you name it we're all there. Cookout's on the beach, family game night and of course our annual pizza night (the owners know my grandparents by name) When you get all of us together it's a guaranteed good time!

The only bummer is that Sunday when we're loading up the cars to head out. It never fails the minute we get in the car we're already deciding when we should come back. Sure we love not having to worry about wk or even having a set schedule but for us the best vacations are all of us just being together. Ok ok I think thats enough mushiness for the day. A BIG thanks again to Lynzy, Marissa, Ashley and Nina for filling in while we were gone.....you girls are the best!

I basically lived in these shorts all vacation long. They are so comfortable, plus i love the color. The pictures don't show you the awesomeness of my headband, but it's a yellow floral & i tied it using Keiko's easy scarf tying tutorial. I love how it kind of looks like a turban on top. 

Some random man actually told me i looked like Wilma from the Flinstones.....uh MEN!

I love this color combo, Army Green, Neon Orange & Teal. 

The only other time in my life i've had something army green, was back in high school, it was a skirt, and it was loaded with pockets. I only ever wore it with a shirt i bought that matched perfectly. Talk about sticking to your comfort zone. 

Now i own 2 things that are army green (these shorts & my army vest), and they are probably my most versatile and favorite items in my closet. 

Thank God my style has evolved!

I wore this on Friday (last week). We took a break from all the swimming to go eat pizza. Every year it's a tradition. You can tell in these pictures how much difference a day made in my skin tone. I tell ya, that Texas sun is brutal. I turned like 5 shades darker, even with pounds of sunblock piled on. 

 I made all my sisters take outfit pics too....i think they were jealous so i let them in on the fun! :)

Summer Breeze

What an outfit this is, i managed to get everything from Forever21. I shop there way too much, that should be my next challenge, when buying clothes try to expand my horizons! 

I wore this the first day we got to the beach. I wanted to be as comfortable as possible, and this top is nothing short of that. Plus the rope detail felt so nautical, perfect for the beach. 

Right after these pictures we slipped into our swimsuits and made a bee line to the beach, which, lucky for us, was right behind our condo!
