Everybody's out surfin'......

We have something very exciting coming up this summer on The Style Dossier. Drum roll please...............It's our SUMMER SERIES!! We're gathering all our summer favorites........cocktails, fashion, beauty products, food and putting them all together for one special series. We're very very excited about it and we can't wait to share all our summer fav's with you. But more importantly we want to know what your favorite summer activities are? What's your summer go to pieces? So come on gals take out that sunscreen, beach balls and coolers and let's get ready to hit the beach!

Texan girl's know best....

During the summer our go to drink is a margarita....ok ok all year round that's our drink of choice. So it's pretty safe to say we've tried our fair share of margie's, we even consider ourselves "official" margarita taste tester's. And yes some of the BEST margarita's come from San Antonio. But unfortunately there was one margarita we just didn't care for. The Skinny Girl Margarita by Bethenny Frankel. Bethenny is one of our favorite reality stars, man that girl is funny as heck. But her version of a margarita just didn't do well with our taste buds. It seems like a fresh take on the margarita and most of you probably really enjoy it. It's a healthier take on a margie.....unfortunately it missed the mark with us. If you're looking for a guilt free margarita we say go for it......but honestly our margie's are the one thing we don't skimp out on.

SHATTER-tastic

Here are my shatter-tastic nails!!! 

I usually don't wear different colors on each nail but this black shatter has made me adventurous, I am MEGA in love!

If you have this polish, how do you wear it? I'd love to know!

better late then never

So i know i am so late on this shatter bandwagon, but finding this polish has been like finding a needle in a haystack. I found it in the one place i would have never thought, JcPenny. I had no idea they even had a salon, but any-hoo the point is i found it and i LOVE IT!

I'm never neat when i paint my nails so the fact that this polish looks good no matter if you mess up or not is aweosme! I love watching it crack, it happens so fast, plus it looks so cool. One drawback is it dries really FAST, i'd heard this but you don't realize how fast till you try it. I'm sure with practice it becomes easier and easier to be quick. I've already thought of all these different nail polishes that would look great all shattered up, i'm gonna post some pics tomorrow of my shatter-tastic nails!

This polish definitely deserves a stamp of approval!
If you can get your hands on some, buy it, it really is awesome!

Frizz Free.....

Last week the unimaginable happened.....I ran out of John Freida frizz ease serum. I know it may not seem like a big deal but to me I almost had a meltdown. Yes I could have gone out and bought some more but I decided to change my game plan. I had been seeing the ads for the Pure Clean Garnier Fructis line so I decided to try it. They had frizz cream that I had to try especially since my hair was looking like a big frizz ball. I've been using John Freida for years and years and I swore up and down that nothing else worked for me.....boy was I wrong. This cream worked really well. If you want to test anything that fights humidity come to Texas and we'll let ya know if it does the trick. I decided to test out the whole Pure Clean line and so far I give it two thumbs up. It smells fantastic and my hair felt more silky and soft and best of all frizz free! It's infused with acerola antioxidant berry and guaranteed to give you no heavy residue. Best of all it left my hair feeling pure and clean......go figure. You know what this means Garnier you've been STAMPED!

So this isn't my first rodeo with hair dye, i'm actually quite the expert. Numerous colors & perms have had there chance on my hair. When i heard about the foam dye i was so excited, finally an easier way to color your hair at home. 

I was pretty shocked at how much of a change this was from the regular at home hair dye i was used to. I felt like i almost didn't have complete control over where the dye went on my hair (mostly the roots). I always like to start with my roots first, and the applicator tips are always really easy for that, but the foam really wasn't for me. It was however perfect for all over color, no drips and definitely much easier to apply. The stench was horrifying, burning your nostrils, make your eyes water bad. I've smelt my fair share of dye and this was by far the worst smelling one. Other than the smell, i'd say the dye worked pretty well! 

A little tip if you try it: use a little foam at a time, otherwise it will go all over the place

 Unlike Katy I haven't dyed my hair very much. In fact the only time I did dye it was about 10 years ago, Since then I've had "virgin hair" (that's what my hair stylist likes to call it) So I was pretty nervous about changing my hair color ok that's an understatement I was VERY nervous. Katy dyed her hair first so she had the job of guinea pig. Luckily she gave me all the do's and don'ts.

I really didn't know what to expect but I can tell you I was pleasantly surprised. The foam was easy for me to handle and no drips...always a plus. I liked how the foam coated my hair evenly but I have to warn you the smell was extremely bad....I mean eyes watering bad. But overall I give it a thumbs up. It was a great color and it wasn't messy at all. I would suggest using a little foam at a time just for handling purpose's. I hated waiting 25 minutes to see how my color turned out but I'd say it was all worth it. Thanks Clairol for the free coupon and for my new hair color! 

Overall we gave this two thumbs up....you know what that means Clairol you've been stamped!

Salon Hair at a Cheap Price!

 

     

Do any of you remember when Suave first came out and the products weren't considered "special" or "fancy." Well guess what they have totally revamped their product and now I can't live without it. I've tried almost all their products and I would absolutely reccomend them to anybody. The best part is they are so cheap, but in good way. The shampoo and conditioner are about $3.00 each. I'm always looking for bargain and this one I'm willing to share with everyone. When I started using Suave my hair felt like it had life again! I actually wanted to show my hair to the world. Listen to me I sound like a spokesperson, which by the way I wouldn't object to, but it truly does work. I really encourage everyone to rethink Suave. It saved me money and it saved my hair, and its just as good as the salon brands. Now that's worth a Stamp of Approval don't ya think?

The e.l.f Beauty Encyclopedia

Hey Guys, Happy Monday to you! I am sitting in jury duty right now trying to pass time so i thought i would share our newest "stamp of approval"! Wait for it...wait for it...

It's the e.l.f Beauty Encyclopedia {neutrals edition}

I have been using this since before Thanksgiving and i have to tell you i love it!

I really don't wear too much make-up, plus i barely started wearing it at all. So needless to say i needed something fool proof. I got this to try & see if i would be able to even create make-up looks, and let me tell you i have. I feel like such an expert sometimes...

It comes in the shape of a book and inside you get 12 neutral colors {ranging from light brown to purple}. On one side you have a whole step-by-step guide to help you create whatever look your going for. I really didn't follow these steps much, i just watched a lot of youtube videos, but the instructions are pretty in depth with pictures as guidance.

There are some colors that i wish were more pigmented, like the black color. I have had to get A LOT on my brush and even then it barely shows up. Most all of the other colors are superb, they go on well, blend well, and even show up on your skin well!

The best part about this palette is it's price point, it will cost you $5 big ole' smackers. So you can choose to get a subway foot long or this, now i love subway but i'd rather get this!
